Winds of Salvation: Crossing the Desert of Despair

1. A Trial at the Edge of a Cliff

It had been just about a year since our family settled in the United States. During a brief visit back to our home country, we decided to travel to a hospital on Sorokdo Island in Goheung—a place famous for treating skin conditions—to get a prescription for our daughter, May, who was in seventh grade and had suffered from eczema since childhood. But on our way, right in the middle of the Namhae Expressway, we found ourselves standing at the crossroads of life and death.

With a deafening crash, a one-ton truck slammed into the back of our car, completely crushing the trunk until nothing was left of it. On the surface, there were no visible injuries, but that was merely the calm before the storm. Hurrying back to Los Angeles to catch our flight, a tragic ordeal unfolded high in the sky.

May began to suffer from severe post-accident trauma. The pain became so unbearable that neither she nor my wife, Master Kim, could sit in their seats, eventually collapsing into the aisle. Realizing the severity of the situation, the flight attendants kindly allowed them to lie down in vacant First Class seats, which helped us barely make it back to the States.

Fortunately, our young daughter recovered quickly, but Master Kim’s mind and body began to wither away from that day on. She spent more and more time bedridden, day and night. Whenever she received Ki-healing (Chunsoo), her condition would temporarily improve, but soon she would collapse again, like sinking deep underwater.

"Every experience we have while alive remains with our soul after death, becoming either heaven or hell. Therefore, living a healthy and happy life is humanity's duty."

This was what she always preached to visitors at our center. Yet, facing a reality where she couldn't even lift her own body, deep doubts and an identity crisis washed over us: "Is the path we've been walking truly the right one?"

Master Kim, who once weighed 143 lbs (65 kg), dropped to 119 lbs (54 kg) in just six months. She struggled to swallow even a sip of water, let alone food, and the shadow of death hung over her face. Without health insurance or even the money for a single medical diagnosis, we had no choice in the harsh reality of America but to rely solely on Ki-healing, enduring nerve-wracking days.

2. A Miraculous Reunion and an Unexpected Diagnosis

Around that time, someone living near Mount Jiri in Korea heard our heartbreaking news and generously bought Master Kim a plane ticket back to Korea. So, she boarded a flight alone to rest and recover.

While taking a walk during her recovery in Korea, she ran into an old acquaintance she used to run marathons with. Shocked by her severe weight loss, the friend immediately brought her to the hospital where she worked. But after examining Master Kim, the doctor’s expression turned grim, and he immediately transferred her to the emergency room at Hanlim General Hospital, a major medical center.

The re-examination results were shocking: Hyperthyroidism.

An overproduction of thyroid hormones was paralyzing her body's metabolic functions. The doctor said with a solemn look:

"If you had come just a little later, you could have lost your life to a 'thyroid storm,' where your organs fail. You must start taking two pills of the strongest medication every day right now. You might have to rely on medication for the rest of your life."

After two weeks of emergency treatment, Master Kim returned to LA with a six-month supply of medication in hand. Now that we knew the cause, there was no stepping back.

Along with medication, Master Kim combined Ki-Sun practice and Chunsoo (Ki-healing). Even though she wobbled from exhaustion, she walked the streets of Koreatown in LA for hours every day and never skipped a single day of exercises to open her body's energy pathways (Ki-hyul).

3. A Pure-Souled Connection and the Release of Karma

While practicing these energy-opening exercises, we met a woman named Mrs. Choi, who introduced us to her older sister, Mrs. Song. Mrs. Song was extremely sensitive to energy and could actually see the flow of energy with her own eyes.

Sitting in our living room, Mrs. Song said she could hear the whistling sound coming from the practice room while a Ki-healing session was taking place, and she felt the Ki energy rushing toward her. When she received Ki-healing herself, she was amazed as she physically experienced a vast cosmic energy flowing through her body, healing her through its vibrations.

She immediately began practicing Ki-Sun class. As she started chanting during practice, she felt the healing energy tuning itself, and she personally witnessed the center's Il-Won-Sang (Oneness Symbol) radiating energy and moving as if it were a living entity.

One day, we explained the concept of ancestral karma and spiritual liberation to her:

"The deeds, illnesses, and karma of your ancestors deeply affect the lives of their descendants. Through 24 days of sincere prayer, if you untie the knots of your ancestors' grief, the gates of heaven open, and their souls are delivered to their original home in paradise."

Reminded of biblical messages regarding ancestral sin and salvation, Mrs. Song readily began the ancestral deliverance ceremony. As the prayers continued, the grim and weary appearances of her ancestors gradually turned bright and clear. Finally, on the 24th day, Mrs. Song confessed with tears in her eyes:

"A massive, radiant gate of light opened above the Il-Won-Sang symbol. I saw my ancestors smiling brightly as they walked through that gate!"

4. The Journey to the Desert Land of Phelan

At that time, our lives were financially difficult. The U.S. economy had hit rock bottom due to the subprime mortgage crisis, and with Master Kim's illness making it hard to run the center, I drove a taxi late at night to make ends meet.

One morning, as I was resting after a night shift, Mrs. Song came by and suggested showing us a house in Phelan, near Victorville—about an hour and a half drive from Koreatown.

"If you manage and take care of this house, I won't charge you rent. I'll also bring you groceries every week. Plus, one of the best high schools in the Western LA area is just a mile away, so why not move there?"

By then, Master Kim's health was recovering miraculously. She had gradually reduced her thyroid medication to just a tiny dose after six months, and after a year, she was able to stop taking it altogether while remaining healthy. Moreover, May's eczema was completely cured—whether due to the medication or California's dry climate.

Master Kim decided to move, saying that if it meant stopping my night driving and providing a good educational environment for our daughter, she would go anywhere, even to a desert. Though people around us strongly discouraged us, asking, "What are you going to do for a living in that desolate High Desert countryside?", we rented the largest moving truck we could find and headed to Phelan.

5. A Practice Center in the Desert, and a Spiritual Response

Life in Phelan unexpectedly turned into a land of opportunity for us. It gave us the time and peace of mind to launch a website to globalize our online training and deliverance ceremonies. We also had the opportunity to spread Ki-healing to many people through off-site sessions at the World Beat Center in San Diego.

Additionally, we personally renovated a building made of two large shipping containers left on the property. We laid hardwood floors and crafted doors using the traditional beauty of Korean wooden latticework, creating a wonderful practice hall. There, with Master Kim and May as models, we filmed instructional videos of Ki-Sun practice movements to help spread Ki-Sun worldwide.

During that time, Mrs. Song’s mother, who had been in a nursing hospital for a long time, passed away. Since Mrs. Song had willingly conducted deliverance ceremonies for her other ancestors, we gently suggested one for her mother. However, Mrs. Song was firm:

"Unlike my other ancestors, my mother served Jesus her whole life, so she definitely went to heaven. A deliverance ceremony isn't necessary."

Shortly after, however, strange things began to happen.

The youngest sister, Mrs. Choi, dreamed of her late mother holding wild bracken and bellflower roots—traditional Korean memorial foods that her mother had never even liked in life.

The 3nd sister's husband also dreamed of the mother sitting silently with a sad look in her eyes.

Furthermore, the second sister, Mrs. Seo, who had worked at a bank for decades, suddenly received an unexpected termination notice out of nowhere: "Do not report to work starting next week."

Around the time these spiritual warning signs were sounding, a spiritually sensitive visitor named Miss Choi stopped by the center. After meditating for about 30 minutes in the practice room, she came to the living room in another building and asked:

"Who is the elderly woman sitting in front of the practice room? She looks so much like Mrs. Song around her face... She keeps waiting outside the practice hall."

Her mother's soul had been wandering outside the practice room, unable to find where to go.

Hearing this, the second sister, Mrs. Seo, had a profound realization and broke down in tears:

"Master Seo, may I perform the deliverance ceremony for my mother instead of my older sister?"

6. The Gate of Blessing Opens Again

Mrs. Seo commuted three hours round trip every week, spending her time off from work entirely on prayer. Every morning and evening, through YouTube Live prayers, she prayed with all her heart for her mother's soul to shed its karma and move into the light. On the day the 24 days of earnest prayer ended, a warm, peaceful energy filled the room. The mother had finally released her grief and ascended to the world of light.

Exactly one week after the ceremony concluded, a miraculous phone call came.

The bank that had abruptly fired her called back out of the blue:

"Mrs. Seo, an unexpected situation came up. Is there any chance you could come back to work for us?"

Having been let go without reason, she returned to work as if nothing had happened, and went on to complete five peaceful years at the bank until her retirement.

The sincere devotion to resolving an ancestor's grief and sending her soul into the light had, in the end, gently cleared the blocked path for her child—a truly marvelous miracle.
